Chocolate cake with nuts recipe

Συνταγή για κέηκ σοκολάτας με καρύδια

Preparation time: 40 minutes

Ingredients for 6 people

4 eggs

80 g flour

130 g soft butter

150 g sugar

200 g plain chocolate

100 g chopped walnuts

2 tablespoons brandy (or any dry liqueur)

1 sachet of vanilla

Method:

1- Chop the chocolate into pieces and melt in a basin over boiling water. Add the softened butter and mix well until completely melted.

2- Flavour with the vanilla and liqueur. Beat the egg yolks with 100g sugar to a froth and, mixing all the time, add the melted and cooled chocolate.

3- Add the finely chopped walnuts to the mixture. Separately, whisk the egg whites until stiff together with the remaining sugar.

4- Sift the flour over the mixture, alternating with the egg whites, and mix very gently from the bottom towards the top so that the mixture does not lose its consistency.

5- Pour the mixture into the mould, greased and lightly dusted with flour, level out the surface and bake in the oven at 175° for 25 minutes.

6- When the cake is cooked , remove from the oven and turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
