One of the surfaces we touch most in our day is our computer keyboard. Thus, crumbs, dust and coffee stains are often gathered, as we spend many hours of our day in front of it.
Due to that, we understand that cleaning the keyboard is very important, in order to avoid the accumulation of pollutants and it would be good to repeat the process every month.
Before you start, you will need:
- Alcohol
- Cotton swabs
- Toothpicks
- A clean microfiber cloth
Once you have gathered the above, you are ready to start.
1. First, disconnect the keyboard and make sure it's off.
2. Turn the keyboard upside down so that any debris and other dirt on it, fall on its own.
3. Next, take a cotton swab and soak it in alcohol. Start cleaning around the buttons. The cotton should be damp but not dripping. Once it collects enough dirt throw it away. You will probably need more than one cotton swabs to clean the entire keyboard.
4. If you come across stubborn food scraps or traces of dirt, use a toothpick and remove the dirt.
5. Then pour alcohol on a cloth or towel - again, wet but not dripping - and use it to clean the keys and surrounding areas.
6. Finally, use a dry cloth to polish the keyboard.
