Πως να βάψετε μόνοι σας το σπίτι σας

Tired of seeing moisture and cracks in the walls of your property? Are you finally convinced that it's time to upgrade your apartment? Are you thinking of painting it yourself and it gets you stressed?

The truth is, that painting a house is a necessary process to highlight any space. Learn how you can paint your property yourself easily and quickly, following the above four very simple steps.

1.Choice of colors

Before starting any process, you will need to study your space, especially if you have decided to completely change the color of your walls. If you want something more than a simple refresher of your existing color, then it's time for a little research! You can search for photos in magazines or on the internet for inspiration. But be careful not to fall into the traps of striking colors and spaces, as many of them may not match the style of your home. To have as a guide, to choose mainly based on the decoration of your own house and the furniture that you already have.

Once you have come up with the colors that interest you and the palette you want to move, ask the store where you will buy the paints to give you samples and help you, to have a better picture of the shade you are looking for. So, you will make the right choice and the result will justify you.

2. Correct toolbox

Painting the house yourself requires that you have some essential tools to help you get the job done. What will you need?

  • Eye protection goggles
  • Disposable gloves for hands
  • Paper tape for doors, windows and sockets
  • A cover or cardboard to protect the furniture and the floor
  • Sandpaper to smooth the rough surface of the wall and remove the previous color
  • Spatula and putty to cover possible cracks, holes or scratches on the walls
  • Bucket or Boat for paint
  • Painting roll for large surfaces that will be covered in a short time and will leave a smooth and flawless finish
  • Roller pole to reach even the highest points of the wall
  • Brushes in different sizes that will help you paint in more detail the points that the roller can not catch (eg the corners)
  • Staircase or Staircase for the ceiling and high points of the wall

3.Preparation of the space

I start by arranging the space you are going to paint a little. Pick up what you do not need and leave the room as crowded as possible. Continue covering all the furniture and wooden surfaces with the cover you have and lay the cardboard on your floor. This way, you will save a lot of time after cleaning and you do not risk getting dirty and damaging anything. Then he hung the curtains, lowered frames and frames and covered the nails. Finally, after lowering the general, set aside the lights, unplug all appliances in the socket and tape them. Do the same in the window frames and wherever needed.

Next comes the cleaning of the walls. Caution! We never start painting the walls without first cleaning them. You can easily clean them with a sponge or cloth and wait for them to dry well. Dust and dirt that has accumulated on the walls after so long can cause the paint to "spit out" quickly. Once you are done with this, continue plastering the cracks and holes. Basically, now is the time to deal with any repairs your walls need. To make the surface smooth and even, sand the walls.

4. Time for painting

Before you start painting, make sure your brushes and roller are clean. We suggest you choose morning time to start. Apart from the fact that you will have enough time in front of you, the natural sunlight will help you to better distinguish the shades and make the necessary corrections. Pass the first coat starting with the roller from the ceiling and the high points. Continue with gentle movements and without pressure, to do the rest. A first thin layer may be enough, otherwise you can apply the paint once more. For difficult points, use your brushes. We suggest you leave these for the better.

You are ready! See; It was not difficult at all! Combine it with good company, loud music and creativity and we are sure that you will have fun!
